Optimal cluster size for 4TB usb exFAT disk?

Is there an optimal cluster size when formatting a new external usb disk?

4096 is the Windows default. Going higher works but you lose the NTFS file compression (anything above >4k). It really depends on what is going to be stored on that drive.

Should I use also the standard of 1024kb if I use exFAT? The use is just music storage as flac files.

I think 4k would still be a good medium choice. While, the base files are large, you might have small .jpg, playlists, etc which would could start eating up a lot of space if you have many of them. But, give this a read as it is very close to your question: and explains things.
