Optimal setup for speakers around the house / outdoors?

I am prone to analysis paralysis and was hoping for some guidance. I would like to put some simple speakers around my home that will play nice with Roon (bonus points for playing nice with Apple music). If I can zone certain speakers, that would be great too. I am not an audiophile but I appreciate good quality devices.

Any suggestions you can make for a simpleton? I believe most of these devices will be playing via wi-fi.

I use HomePod both mini and full size . Also have a Sonos Roam 2 for outdoors . They work with Roon using Airplay 2 and will work with Apple Music. I have 4 zones like this. Works well, The main limitation is that Airplay Zones cannot be combined with RAAT zones which I use in my main system but it is not a practical issue for me.
