Hello @halawaska,

I’ve analyzed the logs and found the exact cause of the UI freezing and slowdowns.

Your Roon Storage is incorrectly set to scan the /root/snap/Roon directory. This is Roon’s own system folder where it constantly writes its operation logs.

This creates an infinite loop: Roon writes a log entry ➔ the scanner sees a “new file” and triggers a massive library rescan ➔ the scan generates more logs. This loop exhausts your RAM and completely freezes the Roon Remotes. Restarting only temporarily helps until the scanner hits the logs again.
How to fix it:

  1. Open Roon (ideally right after rebooting the server while it's still responsive).
  2. Go to Settings > Storage.
  3. Find the /root/snap/Roon folder and click Remove or Disable.
  4. Make sure your Storage locations only point to actual music folders (like /mnt/Music), and never to system folders or the root drive (/).
If the app is completely frozen and you can't access the settings, let me know and I'll provide Linux terminal commands to clear this manually. Let me know how it goes!
