I'm using PSB alpha iq streaming speaker and there is an odd phase issue during roon playback. When I test Speaker test tracks including phase test, there is no problem in case of Tidal connect and Blusound app. In phase tracks are correctly heard and out of phase sound is correctly played. But in case of Roon playback, those tracks doesn't sound correctly. There may be a phase issue in roon playback (maybe originate from digital crossover?) in PSB alpha iq.
Ok thanks. Something is happening after Roon, in the Amplifier stage, so it’s possible that the problem happens there. Possibly some kind of incompatibility, and the official support will have to take a look, I suppose.
In the meantime, it may be possible to work around it by inverting the phase in Roon, or at least to test if it really is a phase issue: Roon > MUSE > Add Filter > Procedural EQ > Add Operation > Invert Phase

I think it’s a complex sound phase problem. Of course, I tried inverting phase, and since the sound phase of the left and right speakers differs depending on the frequency, I believe that a phase problem occurred in the digital crossover and EQ stage of the speakers. However, there appears to be no problem at all with Tidal connect or BluOS. It appears that there is something wrong with the Roon application to this speaker.
I’ve contacted PSB support team and it has been confirmed that the left and right speakers are unbalanced when playing Roon on Alpha IQ speakers.

After speaking with our engineering team regarding your specific issue they have been able to replicate it here in our labs. Our engineering team will be looking into this further and be providing a fix for this issue in a future firmware update.
Unfortunately, we here in technical support are not provided a timeline for future development and releases so I can not say for certain when this update will become available. However, rest assured that our engineering team will be doing everything they can to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
I’m sorry I do not have a more immediate solution for you but in the meantime, if you have any further questions for me, please feel free to let me know.
