Describe the issue

My windows Roon works as a remote to play from ROCK to an Astell&Kern Device directly.
When I try to play on my windows computer it shows the very creative message:
Too many failures stopping playback.
I have several output paths on my computer:
- Realtek USB wasapi: works
- External DAC via USB (wasapi, Audioengine D1): fails
- System over Realtek USB: fails
-System over D1: fails

Describe your network setup

this is not a router problem

Never happens with Apple systems windows imho is not very good AND I agree it’s not you router that is SOP answer from ROON

Make sure your Realtek drivers are up to date would be the first thing I would suggest. And, I don’t mean by Windows Update, I mean, get the latest version from your motherboard manufacturer.

Hello @j.hardmeier ,

Thanks for reaching out with your report. Is there by any chance any change in behavior if you reboot your Roon app on the Windows, does playback then start to work?

Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.

You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.

I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
