Describe the issue

When I try to play something on roon, I get the error “Too many failures. Stopping playback”. In the past I used to solve this problem by starting the roon server again. Now it looks like after last update even this solution doesn't work. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling roon, but the problem is still there.
My configuration is a computer with Windows 11. The roon server is set to be my computer itself. Every other audio software installed in my computer, such as PotPlayer, foobar2000, or my Chrome browser, is able to play my audio files and streaming audio from Qobuz or any other source. Just roon is unable to play anything now.

Describe your network setup

Windows 11 computer, roon server is my computer.

Hey @rooner !

We’ve identified a known incompatible audio driver (Nahimic / A-Volute APO) installed on your Windows system.
This driver is explicitly blacklisted by Roon and will cause playback failures across all zones, including System Output.

Please completely uninstall Nahimic / A-Volute components and reboot. This should fully resolve the issue.

Regards.

Hi @rooner,

We’re reaching out to ensure you’ve seen the post above and to ask if you’re still having any problems after uninstalling the Nahimic driver.

Support diagnostics indicate that RoonServer has been active since you posted. Please let us know if you’re having ongoing problems and we’ll promptly respond. Thank you!

Thank you very much, your advice worked. I saw in online discussions and in my computer that Nahimic / A-Volute is extremely difficult to uninstall, so I disabled my sound card from BIOS and then I made a new installation of everything, including Windows, from zero. Now Roon is working fine.
