Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?
· *Both streaming and local* *library* music are affected.
Do you encounter any playback errors with the "System Output" Zone?
· The System Output has the same problem as my other Zone.
Do you have a complex network setup?
· I have a *mesh network* with devices connected to multiples points
Your local network might need some re-arranging to support Roon.
· None of the suggestions have helped me. I'd like to submit a support request.
What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?
· Logitech G560 speakers via USB
Describe the issue
Playback in Roon is not possible with my Logitech G560 speakers "Too many failures. Stopping playback."
Describe your network setup
wired to a 1GbE switch
I also wanted to add, playback works with other local audio zones on my PC, but can’t get it to playback to my Logitech G560s attached via USB to this PC (will work via bluetooth on my laptop using these speakers as well). I’ve removed and reinstalled the driver for these speakers within device manager (don’t see a way to do that via Logitech’s G Hub - did confirm I’m running the latest firmware on these speakers).
This often happens when in Roon’s zone setup the zone is set to two channels only but Windows expects a multichannel setup for the device. Can be resolved by setting the zone to 5.1 or 7.1 in Roon’s zone settings. See also:
Greetings! Glad to see the support process change a bit for improved data gathering of the enviornment and problem. It’s quite a head scratcher here that these speakers work in Roon via bluetooth, but not directly attached to the PC via USB. These speakers are new replacing some older ones I had connected to my sound card via Optical S/PDIF Port.
Are you still seeing this issue at the present time? Looking over past threads, it looks like this might be related to the G560 driver somehow, if you try to play to your System Output zone and redirect System Output to the Logitech does that work? Related thread here:
Hi Noris. Same issue and, unfortunately, tracks continue to skip when I choose system output zone. I plan to remove the G560s and revert back to my old faithful Logitech speakers via optical out which worked fine. I switched as I wanted to try a new pair of speakers. Oh well! Not happy with the audio quality of the G560s anyhow.
Hi,
Thanks for the follow up.
I will have to come back to you on that. I am in the process at the moment of re-installing windows. I am a Mac person, so I am having difficulties with all the windows arcanes.
But before the re-install things weren’t fixed. I honestly gave up trying to solve the issue.
I’ll keep an eye on the G560 driver though.
Happy new year.
Cheers
André
Ok…I finally succeed to have a windows that is stable. Roon was working, then before installing the Logitech HUB I created a restauration point. Installed the Logitech HUB (I have a Mouse, Webcam and speakers). After this install Roon stopped working. I restaured the saved Point. All is working fine. I guess I’ll will not install Logitech HUB. I will flag the issue to Logitech and I will hope for the best.
I guess you can switch to solved (even thought it not the ideal solution)
cheers
Thank you for your update. The team will add this to our case notes for the Logitech G560, which has a history of driver-related instability with Roon.
We will allow this case to auto-close for housekeeping purposes, but please do reach out in a new thread if you encounter any future issues. The team will follow up promptly.
