Do you encounter any playback errors with the "System Output" Zone?
· The System Output has the same problem as my other Zone.
Do you have a complex network setup?
· Both the device and RoonServer are connecting to a *single router*
Please try rebooting your router.
· No, I'm still having trouble
What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?
· Streamer: Lumin U2. Dac: Copland DAC 215
Describe the issue
I installed a switch between my router and my NUC and Lumin streamer. On my network I can see all the software from Roon and my music on disk. If I click on the "STAR" next to the back-button, I don't see any strange things. Also I see the streamer and the DAC in the list. Also I can choose music files or playlists from disk or Qobuz. BUT: If I press PLAY the counter stays on zero and after a few seconds the player jumps to the next file. I already did reset my router and the other gear
Describe your network setup
Ziggo Router to Netgear Switch. From switch 2 ethernet cables: 1 to streamer, other to NUC. Just that
Diagnostics indicate that RAAT can’t prepare this Lumin endpoint for playback in time when commanded. I’d verify that the firmware is updated on the endpoint itself for due diligence.
Can you please share a screenshot of the device setup page for this Lumin Zone in Settings → Audio? Click on the gear icon .
Let’s also make sure that this switch isn’t interfering with either device announcement or multicast.
What is the make and model of switch you are using?
If you’re using a managed switch, the most likely culprit is the switch’s network management software selectively holding up or blocking traffic on certain ports.
If you can reproduce this issue with local tracks, we can rule out the upstream connection between the ROCK/NUC and the main router/internet.
Does this occur regardless of the Zone you’ve selected?
Try switching ethernet ports for both the ROCK/NUC and the streamer. Test without one or the other hardwired to the upstream router instead.
Yesterday all worked fine (with the 8 ports switch). And yes, I also tried this again, but the same problem occurs.
I just tried it also in the “old” situation: both ethernet cables directly in the modem/router: same problem
I tried to use the Lumin directly, outside of Roon: the Lumin doesn’t give music.
So it could be the Lumin U2 gives the problem.
The DAC works fine for the CD player.
Strangely enough all seems to be okay except for the playing.
BTW: if I push the play-button and wait 20 sec. or so an error message shortly is on the screen saying something like: too many mistakes, playback aborted.
Hi!!
It works all again! I did a reset from the Lumin and it plays the music like before.
Thus it had nothing to do with ROON…
Thanks again for your help
Have a nice weekend, Henk-Willem
