Playback skips every 30 seconds for certain albums since early June (ref#ODEJCE)

Hi. Roon skips to next song, after playing 30 sec. With some albums, songs skips after 1 min 30 sec. Some albums are not causing problems. Its the exact same issues on both Tidal and Qobuz. It started in the beginning of june. I got some aid from you in july, but couldn't really make tests. And the problem is still the same. Ex. all Joni Mitchel's albums has the problem with 30 sec skips. Jan Harbeck "Balanced" play back OK. Janne Mark albums have 1 min 30 sec skips yesterday. Today seems OK ... Hope you can solve the problems.

So is it 30 seconds like in the title of this thread and according to your old thread, or is it sometimes longer like you wrote in the opening post here?

Asking because 30 seconds would be the perfectly expected behavior with streaming accounts that aren’t properly validated, as was already suggested in the old thread:

I would check this anyway, the streaming service may well occasionally allow it to play a bit longer.

  • Verify the account status with the streaming service.
  • If the account is ok and you are sure that you use the same one in Roon, log out of the streaming account in Roon, reboot the Roon server, then log in again

Please see the post above - @Suedkiez is correct that account authorization issues most often explain a precise 30-second playback failure with streaming tracks.

Does this occur regardless of the endpoint in use? Please try playing an affected album to the System Output of your Mac instead of the KEF in order to simplify the chain and reduce WiFi interference.

Please also share a basic overview of your network hardware (routers and any nodes or switches) and how RoonServer is connected.
