Describe the issue

Hi! When i'm playing 192khz Tidal flacs, after few seconds playback starts stutter and then stops completely. I have 300Mb/s download speed and recently i was changed isp to have 600Mb/s but it won't help. The PC with Roon server i have connected to router via cable.
Endpoint is RPI Zero 2W with Ifi Zen Dac connected via WIFI to second router which is turned into access point in bedroom on second floor, i have there 100Mb/s download speed and i think it's should be enough for 192khz playing, but i may be wrong, and i don't have issues with local 192khz or DSD files streamed from PC.

Describe your network setup

Master router - ZTE MC888 Pro 5G is connected via cable to PC with Roon Server. Second router(access point mode) D-link DIR-853 R1 in bedroom connected to master router via RJ45. Endpoint is connected to second router via wifi 2.4Ghz.

How is that second AP connected to the main router? Is it broadcasting the same SSID as your main router?

It’s connected via RJ45 cable, broadcasting different SSID.

I get error “media loading slowly”

Hi Janusz,
Have you tried turning second router into bridge mode? That will allow you connect the end point via ethernet cable.
I’ve had similar problems in the past and then I turned my second router (Netgear R7000) into bridge. All works fine since then.

I could connect it via ethernet, but RPI Zero 2W endpoint have only wifi, not ethernet port.

I see. But you need to know that wifi for Roon endpoint isn’t good idea.
I’d suggest to try another device with ethernet connection.
Just for a test, so you know where you are.

Hey @Janusz_swliwinski,

Thanks for writing in! It’s good to see you on the community again - as others have mentioned, ruling out wifi would be an excellent first step in troubleshooting.

Does this issue occur no matter the endpoint? If you could, please bring your server back online and share a specific track name when the issue occurs, and we’ll enable diagnostics for your server machine to take a closer look into things.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :raised_hands:
