… have seen this way back in the past on here, but nothing recently and no solutions. I have a playlist behaving strangely, tracks get ‘hooked’ as though I am moving them and won’t ‘drop’ no matter what I press. The Reset button seems to think I have filtered on one of the columns, but no columns have filters on them… anyone have a clue what’s going on?
A few reports already on this thread (and another I linked from it), might be worth adding your thread/post to the end and uploading a backup per the last post.
Thanks I will… I have managed to reproduce the reason this happens (that is the stuck reset button not the track moving which seems to have cleared with a reboot). It happens when I select a group of tracks to delete, not adjacent, and press the ‘Remove’ button. The tracks go but the reset button appears. Restarting the Roon ROCK core removes the reset button but reinstates the previously deleted tracks! Sounds to me like this playlist has become corrupted - good job its not very big!
I just received an update from Roon from my original post, but the update did NOT correct the issue with moving tracks within a play list. Looks like a bad pointer or something remains undefined in the code. It would be great to get this fixed. It has been a couple of weeks now.
Maybe that playlist is corrupted, have you tried adding the tracks to another playlist and deleting the unwanted ones from there? I did but it failed, so I didn’t want to corrupt any other playlists by playing around… it’s a pretty clear issue so I’m sure Roon are working hard on a fix.
I’ll try. If it is a corrupted playlist, how do you reset it or do you need to start the playlist over from scratch?
I think that’s what’s taking time, they may well have found the reason for corruption, but undoing it is a little more difficult, just surmising here though. If moving those tracks to a new playlist means you can then delete them and they stay deleted and the ‘reset’ button doesn’t appear from nowhere, then you can just delete the old playlist.
Obviously something caused it though, so I’m holding off messing around with playlists until Roon have issued an update to solve the problem. I moved my tracks to a new playlist, bit as soon as I deleted a few the reset button appeared again and on rebooting Roon the deleted items were back so…
I came here to see if anyone else was having this problem! I get just that ghost thing you talk about. Resequencing this bad list doesn’t take. And to make matters more strange, this week I added a track to the playlist, but when I visited the playlist, it had pulled in the entire album. Attempts to erase the unwanted tracks don’t work. Or it SEEMS to work, while the total track count doesn’t go down. This particular list is FRIED. Unless there’s a cache I can clear or something. And indeed, the Reset button just seems to do nothing.
I had the same issue. I copied all entries of this playlist into a new list. Problem solved.
Yes that’s what’s going on, we just have to wait for it to be fixed in an update
