Date Added sorting is more important than alphabetically arranged by default. New songs are added everyday. Audirvana done this ,at least give us some option to do it. In tracks in my iPhone

sorting by Date Added is a very usefull feature for large playlists. Deezer have it for example and I use it often.

Now I have 143, was only 83 at the time of starting thread. I wonder why something as simply as another sort option would be so difficult and/or simply ignored.

We’re not asking for a customizable interface or for Roon Radio to always work well
just a couple other simple sort options.

Perhaps date added and other variable aren’t tracked in db
wish they could be.

Agreed. I like to look back and see what I was listening to in a chronological fashion. This often results in me adding the date to the playlist name. +1 for this simple feature.

Roon 1.8 is here, but this seemingly simple feature request (“Sort by date added” and, while you’re at it, “Sort by date last updated”) has not been implemented.

Trying to make my mind up on what’s my favorite sort oder, “Sort by track count” or “Sort by length” :thinking:

Its strange its not added on Playlists since its possible to sort like this within the Playlist.

Would it be possible to add the search function “Sort By Date Added” also for “My Playlists” ?

Hello,

Playlists currently cannot be rearranged and have only three selectable Sort orders:

  • Sorted by name
  • Sorted by track count
  • Sorted by length

Could you please make it possible to create
i) customised order like in spotify and others where you can move the playlists in the order you want so you can bring the ones which are the most played to the top
ii) by age of the playlist from first created to last created.

Frustrating to have to go through all your playlists when you want to just play the latest one you’ve creating

I would also like to be able to sort playlists. Alphabetically but also by other fields of interest like Last Played, Date Added, Plays, etc.

So strange this is not implemented since it’s available on albums. Must be a coffee break feature to add to keep the UI streamlined.

You can sort a play list by clicking on the heading at the top, to allow you to change the sequence to play them but it does not save them that way. you can return to the original sequence by pressing the up / down arrow on the left
