Hi all,
Looking for your recommendations for a good quality USB A to USB C cable for data transfer.
This is for my Roon library music files stored on an external SSD drive which has a USB C connector and my iMac only has USB A.
Thanks!

Any (standards compliant) cable will be fine, eg, the one that came with the external SSD drive.
Hi @mikeb - unfortunately it is too short. looking for at least 1m cable.
Any longer one will probably do.
Thanks but I have read a lot of reviews for cables and mixed reviews for pretty much all of the ones I have seen.
Just looking for recommendation for a brand.
Really? Then buy the least expensive one that you are comfortable with.
Recommendation for a brand
Can’t help you. All of mine are generic. It’s just data.
@mitr - thanks for replying though
Amazon Basics, U Green, Anker at al. Occasional faulty one, but you can return it if that’s the case. They’re super cheap and will do the job.
If you have a local computer/electronics store, pick a cable that has secure connectors. Otherwise, the usual suspects (as state above).
Thanks for recommendations - will look at those
Thank you - when you say “secure connectors” what do you mean by that?
The cable-to-connector joint should not be overly loose or flexible.
Thank you for clarifying
I usually just buy AmazonBasics. USB cables are not difficult to build correctly.
The Amazon own ones are good.
Thanks for the tip!
