Power Ballads anyone?

Was listening to Scorpions and was reminded just how much I love a good power ballad. Looking for similar suggestions to jog my memory of something long forgotten…or perhaps get turned on to something new.

The new Adele track, Easy On Me is a decent example of the power ballad IMO. Im not a massive Adele fan but there is no denying her talent and the quality of the productions.

Test it to see if it fits…

Some excellent tracks in there Uwe, one that really caught my eye was Burning Heart by Vandenberg!
A real classic imho.

Wow, great list Uwe!
Multiple references to Scorpions, who have to be among the best when it comes to this sub genre. BFG is one of if not my favourite guitar player, so love the inclusion of Rough Boy…some truly great use of harmonics. Also loving the inclusion of estranged, not a huge GnR fan, but that has to be their most grandiose track and it succeeds.

Not really my thing, but I like this song more than I feel I should and it probably qualifies

I think this is one of his best, although it fell under the radar. Todd (Rundgren) sounds great on this :sunglasses:
Still have the 12 inch single. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcfLoyxJTro

I saw the thread title and thought, “Still Loving You” by the Scorpions… only to stumble at the first hurdle once I saw it was your prime example… curse you

I first heard it on their Gold Ballads compilation, tracks from which feature in Uwe’s list above.

Probably going to think how can a band with a name like Beast In Black do a power ballad but this is excellent imho.
Go listen and let me know!

I think the very deep ballads (power ballad) need heavy rock bands to make the guitars cry
