Power Ballads anyone?

Sorry but have to post yet another Beast In Black offering…this is just spectacular.

Is this a power ballad?
Depends on your definition but man what a performance that night!

WMGGW is one of the greatest songs! Thanks to George Harrisson!
If you have not yet heard the version on Concert for Bangla-Desh, you missed the best one yet.

I wouldn’t really count this as a power ballad. If you want a power ballad by them you should be listening to…

“You’re My Reason” on See Forever Eyes their second album.

Interesting side note, Prism recorded many songs by a Jim Vallence / Bryan Adams.

Just read the overview for this band, wondering how I totally missed on them. Added some extended listening to this afternoon’s queue.

That is such a great song, from a totally underrated band!

I have Coliseum Rock on vinyl. I think it was their last album? Used to love it back in the day, especially side two. Can’t say i’ve listened to it in around 30+ years
May have to dig it out.

Not sure if this is too AOR for this thread? I’ve always liked ‘The Raspberries’ song ‘Overnight Sensation’, but I have a real soft spot for the ‘Cherie and Marie Currie’ version, as it’s slightly more ‘powerballadesque.’ Is that a real word? :grinning:

Love to Love by UFO. I personally prefer the live version from the album Strangers in the Night.

Try “Love Walked In” by Thunder. Thank me later……

This is what the old geezers are looking for in early retirement and as musical accompaniment in retirement. More of it, please. It’s more than just recommending the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. It shows of deep knowledge of many music productions even of earlier decades. Thanks for this.

…great and live I had not yet on the ears, I keep my ears open for further recommendations…

I think you mean this powerful song or is there a better live version?

Don’t know how I forgot to mention this one, Nilsson’s version of Without You.

And Love Hurts by Nazareth.
