Power Ballads anyone?

Thanks and please more of this

:+1: This one is a bit more obvious. I’m sure many people think that Fee Waybill sung vocals on this, but it’s actually guitarist Bill Spooner. Great album btw

‘Don’t Want to Wait Anymore.’

And another Beast In Black inclusion.
They have pulled off a superb power Ballard on each of their three albums so far, possibly two on this their latest album.
So I will post both!:innocent:

A bit more mainstream though but a great showcase of Ronnie’s vocal prowess.

Check out Winger’s Headed For a Heartbreak. Excellent example of the genre.

That is indeed an excellent album, I was fortunate enough to find a mint copy on vinyl.

If you are 17 or 117 years old, Boston’s More Than a Feeling will get you back closer to 17…timeless.

Starts off slow and deliberate, then just keeps growing.

I can still remember where I was when I heard it for the first time :slightly_smiling_face: This and ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ are songs I will never tire of hearing.

Whilst we are on the subject of Boston - I think this is a great power ballad!
‘A Man I’ll Never Be’ from ‘Don’t Look Back’

I’ll also throw this one into the mix. It’s a nice song from an underrated band, and John Waite sounds great on this. Not sure about the over the top arrangement, but, hey ho.

My hats off to this crew, y’all really know your power ballads. Not many left to choose from. Not sure if these were already mentioned, but Led Zeppelin’s “The Rain Song” and “Going to California” are two classics that aren’t too sugary sweet
…although I’m a sucker for a good hook and pop rock power ballad anytime

This may not be too well known but it’s classic Styx material, which is no surprise really considering…
