Description of Issue

Hello, I am a new user to Roon and I am loving it so far being able to connect my local library to my smart speaker is fantastic and I have only just started combining my local music collection with the integrated Qobuz subscription as well but I keep coming up against an issue where when I use the Search function that it will always show online results from the streaming subscription above and over and sometimes even only these despite the fact I have the same tracks in my local library which I would prefer to select always because they are already in my library, however Roon keeps insisting on showing me the online library editions which I then constantly have to shift back into my Artists library in order to manually select the songs I want from my own library. I really enjoy having the Qobuz integration and the online search but is there anything I can do to force that Roon shows me my library results as standard or prioritises them? I apologise if this is a really simple settings fix, I am not really familiar with all of roon’s functions yet.

Thanks for any help!

First of all, it is important to consider that Roon considers “your library” whatever it is in your library, regardless of whether it is local or streaming.

In the search result, you can click the Library button to see only in-library results, but these will include streaming and local resulsts:

Or use the filter feature in the Albums, Artists, Tracks, etc., views to filter only on your library in the first place, again including streaming and local. Or use Focus to set up queries for specific things, where you can also set a focus on “local only”.

Unfortunately filtering for ‘local’ does hide ‘some’ local tracks. My theory is that the search results of the streaming library (in my case Qobuz) hides certain tracks due to deduplication.

I agree with Khalil_Donaghey that the local library should get priority (or make it optional what you prefer). This is by far my biggest Roon complaint. I have described the problem several months ago in the Support forum but haven’t heard anything back so I am not even sure that Roon accepts that this is something that needs to be fixed (which brings me to my second biggest complaint, where is the public backlog of issues?).

One workaround is to temporarily disable Qobuz. This will cause search to only look at truly local media. Not great and I’d like to have a switch to focus on one or the other but until then this works.

How is this done? Thanks. Is it just a case of switching it on and off?
