Problems Updating Roon PC Endpoint [resolved]

absolutely… hrm, that’s really terrible :frowning:

what platform are you trying?

Window 7 Pro. I just tried the download from Chrome and it got it from https instead of http and I now have the correct version running!

Looks like a few of my PI devices did not auto-update…

I am getting “Software Update Needed” on my PC and iPad after pressing Upgrade on my Core.
They both say “Remote Core (RoonCore) - 1.3 (build 192) stable. You have the latest version installed.”
but “This Tablet 1.2(build 165) stable” and “This PC 1.2(build 165) stable.”

Have I done something wrong?

I do not see a 1.3 version on the Apple store and I downloaded the latest version for my PC from the Roon downloads.

The communication protocol between the remotes and core has changed with 1.3. That’s why you’re seeing this message.

The new iOS app is in the app store. Have you checked updates there in the last few minutes?

I’ve just downloaded a fresh copy Roon for Windows from the roonlabs website and it did install 1.3. Are you sure you ran the installer that you just downloaded? May be worth trying again.

Yes I downloaded the latest. I will try an uninstall and do it again.

Be sure you’re running the most recent installer (since they’re all named the same regardless of version)

I put the download in a new directory to be sure, but I am still getting 1.2 (build 165).

  1. app store rolls out to different regions slowly, so if you are looking at google play store or itunes app store, just wait if you still see 1.2

  2. if your browser is downloading 1.2, it might have a cache or something… try another browser or clearing your cache, or maybe even just restarting your browser

yep, had to do the same, use https… to download updated version. Windows 10 remote now able to connect to 1.3 CORE.
Thanks,
