Problems using Roon via USB on Bluesound Node 3i

NUC on ethernet, Bluesound on WiFi (TPLink Deco M5)

Connected Audio Devices

BlueSound Node 3i - normally on Coax but now testing USB because amp wil be replaced by Hifiman EF400 (USB only)
Auralic Altair G1 ethernet
Windows laptop (ethernet)
PopOS! laptop (wifi) Bridge mode via iPad or iPhone
Music on Qobuz and Synology (ethernet)

Number of Tracks in Library

? 1650 Albums

Description of Issue

When playing music through USB on Bluesound Node 3i to SPL Phonitor SE static noice/dropouts occur.
Playing the same route without Roon does not!

Known issue waiting for a fix from the manufacturer

Hi @Arno_Verhoeven,

They’ve acknowledged the problem with using USB with Roon. I’m hoping the fix will be soon. Until then, using anything other than USB could work around this issue for you.

I have dropout / static using a optical connector albeit with seemingly less occurrences than when using a USB connection.

Oh no, that’s not good.

Can you queue up some music and listen for it to happen? Give me a date/time/track plated and I will look at diagnostics to see what’s going on there.
