· Hello, Could you please confirm whether Roon Nucleus serial number 54B2038C1165 corresponds to a Roon Nucleus (standard, i3) or a Roon Nucleus+ (i7)? Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, Eric
At the moment, we’re not able to locate a Nucleus device with the serial number 54B2038C1165 in our system. Could you please double-check that the serial number was entered correctly and matches exactly what’s shown in the Nucleus web interface or on the device label?
Additionally, could you let us know why you need to identify whether this unit is a Nucleus or Nucleus+?
Understanding the context (for example, purchase verification, hardware support, resale, or configuration questions) will help us advise you more accurately.
Once we have the corrected serial number and a bit more context, we’ll be happy to assist further.
Hi,
I’m looking to purchase a used unit, specifically a Nucleus+ . The seller sent me a picture of the label. I read online that the word “Plus” is not always shown on the label, and that it’s possible to contact Roon Support to confirm whether the unit is a Nucleus+. I may need to ask the seller to send me a picture of the motherboard inside the unit. .
The seller sent me a picture of the motherboard inside the unit.
The motherboard identification shown is: MSIP-REM-CPU-NUC7DNB.
From the information I can find online, the NUC7DNB motherboard is typically associated with an Intel Core i3 processor, not an i7.
Could you please confirm whether Roon ever produced a Nucleus+ using a NUC7DNB motherboard with an i7 processor?
To clarify one important point first: the fact that we don’t see this serial number in our internal database does not automatically mean that the unit is not a Nucleus or Nucleus+.
It usually just means that this particular unit has never checked in to our servers — for example, if it was never signed into a Roon account or never fully set up online.
Unfortunately, the image you referenced doesn’t appear to have loaded on our side, so we can’t directly verify the hardware from the photo itself.
At this point, the recommendation from @Geoff_Coupe is the safest and most reliable next step. Asking the seller for a screenshot of the Nucleus Web Administration Interface will:
confirm the unit powers on and is functional
display the exact model (Nucleus vs Nucleus+)
show internal storage status
confirm the serial number as reported by the system
That screen is the definitive source of truth for identifying the unit.
Let us know if the seller can provide that screenshot, and we’ll be happy to take another look.
