I am using Nucleus - I recently transfers content from an attached HDD External Drive to an External SSD drive which has really increased reliability- question is on the albums that were in the HDD become new in the SSD - should I let the cleanup be done on the 50,000 or so files identified- for cleanup - should note all the albums are in in database but no tags
Hello @John_Keefe ,
Did Roon by any chance see both of the hard drives at the same time? The directions below go over on how to best migrate your music library from one drive to another, its needed for Roon to only see one copy of the files at a time, otherwise it will regard the duplicates as “new” files and disassociate previous metadata edits. If you have already gotten into this state, then it’s best to restore a backup and edit the Roon Settings → Storage location after the restore.
Thank you very much - while a Roon user for numerous of years I did not follow those instructions-. Thinking of getting a Titan and will focus more. Will say the SSD solved a lot of issues
Glad to hear the guide was helpful @John_Keefe ! Yes, if you end up getting the Nucleus and have any concerns, let us know. I will go ahead and mark this one as solved in the meantime, thanks!
