Hi @bluhska,

We checked the logs from your Mac mini. Your KEF LS50 Wireless II was working in Roon as a Roon Ready device until October 1. On that day the connection dropped, and since then the KEF has stopped announcing itself as a Roon Ready device on your network, even after two restarts of Roon Server. It is still visible through AirPlay and Chromecast at the same address, which is why Roon now plays to it over AirPlay, and that connection is less reliable.

Please try the following:

  1. Please unplug the KEF from power for a few minutes (a short power cycle is often not enough), plug it back in, and check whether it appears as Roon Ready under Settings > Audio in Roon. If it does, please enable it and use that zone instead of the AirPlay one. The Audio settings are covered here:
    https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/audio-setup-basics
  2. If it still does not appear, please check in the KEF Connect app which firmware the speakers are on and let us know. The last version we saw reporting as Roon Ready was 4.1.192.

If the KEF still does not show up as Roon Ready after that, the Roon Ready service on the speakers is not starting, and KEF support is the right place to fix it. We are happy to share what we see in our logs with them.

Separately, before October 1 the KEF dropped off the network every 20 minutes while idle. This matches the ECO (20) standby setting in KEF Connect (Power Saver > Standby Mode). If you notice drops when you start playing after a pause, setting it to 30 or 60 minutes may help.
