Describe the issue

I get random " Roon has quit unexpectedly " and when this occurs the library often refuses or takes ages to load , with artwork and new additions missing, or taking a long time to load. Also this is accompanied by rather lengthy waiting before the track actually plays .I have a Mac Studio 64GB apple M1 MAX

I think you’ll need Roon Support to check your logs for this issue.

If it were me, and without uninstalling Roon, would be to reinstall Roon over you current installation. Nothing will be lost but could help.

Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. I will check into your logs. In the meantime try the below steps and let me know if your issue is resolved.

Let’s get you on a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
