Stoppages occurring with Tidal only playlist.
Have not tested local playlist.

Description of Issue

Random stops when playing playlist. Sometimes hours will go without stops, sometimes after 5 minutes or some other.

Any insight into this as I see HQP crashing when stop occurs but no logs that I see that correlates.

Looks like Roon has paused/stopped based on the last line there… And HQPlayer reaches end of stream and stops.

What does the entire “download status” line say? Now the line is cut short.

Please also check that you don’t have Windows Defender firewall active. It inserts itself as a proxy on those network connections, including one between Roon and HQPlayer. And tries to hold the entire stream for virus scanning and at some point gives up and terminates the connection when it realises the amount of data is too much…

For example F-Secure and eset antivirus are known to work fine with HQPlayer. Also Kaspersky, but I switched away from it to eset for a certain reason…

Huhloe.

I had previously been using eset on both machines and recently reset the W11 HQP machine to see if going back to Windows Defender would make any difference. The above is with both machines on Defender.
I shall reinstall eset on both and retest.

Not sure I understand the Roon log file. Someone from Roon would need to comment. But it looks like the issue is Roon having trouble with Tidal.

After running all day for 10 hours with eset, I finally got another stop incident. HQP crashed in this instance as it was no longer open on the desktop.

I also found the crash in event viewer.

I ran sfc /scannow and it found and corrected errors. I shall test overnight and report again tomorrow if there is another instance or not.

From above log seems like Roon suddenly gets upset about some status message content from HQPlayer and disconnects.

Just in case: when I had unexpected disconnects between Roon and HQPplayer last year, it turned out to be a flaky Ethernet patch cable between my HQPlayer Embedded server and an Ethernet switch.

Someone had disconnect issues and those were caused for some reason by jumbo frames.

Also if you experience crashes, worth booting up memtest86 and leaving it running overnight to see if any errors appear.

This is recent crash. These crashes or closings, have been prevalent since 5.1 build I believe reported in another thread. at 17:27-17:30 timeframe today.

Does it work with these settings:
1x = poly-sinc-gauss-long
Nx = poly-sinc-gauss-hires-lp
Modulator = ASDM7EC-light

Nvidia driver is latest Studio driver? It is always best to update Nvidia driver the same day you update HQPlayer.
