Re-Install on Synology NAS

I’ve been having “Error loading Folders - Unauthorized” problems while trying to add folders to the Storage Section. I’ve looked at all the permissions on the Synology as well as in Windows and there shouldn’t be anything blocking access. However, the “Browse” and Add Network Share are not working.

I read in another post that someone had solved their problem by reinstalling ROON on the NAS.

Questions about re-install.

Are the settings and database saved on the NAS?
Can I simply “uninstall” on the NAS and re-install a fresh copy?
Will all my settings and configurations be saved and “reappear” after the re-install

Synology DS718
DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 6

Roon Server Version 2.0 (Build 1359)
Roon Server on usb device
Backups are current

Thanks in advance,

John

Don’t waste your time with reinstalling Roon Server, assuming you use the RoonServer app from the app store, as this will not solve your problem. Read also:

What do you mean by this? The Roon Database folder?

There’s a screen in the installation wizard which explains how to provide Roon access to directories on the NAS. Have you done this for the shares the folders you are trying to add are in? If not, you need to.

Forgot about that drop down menu! I was looking everywhere for that!

Thank you! Problem Solved! Much less painful than a reinstall!
