Real-time scan for new files no longer working

Any reaction?

Hey @Bert_Dijkstra,

Thanks a lot for contacting us over email to share the logs :pray:t2:. I’ve passed them along to Andrew for investigation :relieved:

Thanks, I hope he will find a solution.

Hi Andrew,

Do you have an update for me? Did you receive the link to review my log files? Thanks, Christian

Some progress?

Hey,
This weekend I had to deal with 2 updates. The first was from Roon and the second was from Sonicorbiter/HQPlayer. One of them (I think the latter) was the cause of the problem that Roon could no longer find the Core. In another topic about that problem (there were more people with the same problem) I read how to solve it. It also worked for me and Roon had contact with the Core again. In Settings > Storage I saw that my Music Folder was back, it had, as I showed in a previous post here, suddenly disappeared.

Because both Folders were read, I suddenly had twice as many albums. I disabled the last Folder created. The problem has been solved for the time being, but you will be made insecure about the stability of network audio. Furthermore, after these two incidents, I notice that Roon “randomly?” splits. That happened with more than 100 albums. Album titles are also changed. Merging and adjusting titles is a lot of work. Sometimes that is very difficult and an album turns into a mess. There is even an album that can no longer be deleted, although it is no longer on the hard drive. In addition, it gives errors when I want to play a track. It seems I have to select items first. Which and how?
My concerns about Roon are growing as more and more of these curious events take place.
Am I the only one with this kind of experience?
I think I’ll start a separate topic about Roon’s album indexing and the problems it causes.

Furthermore, it’s remarkable that both watched folders, after indexing, show different number of albums and tracks while it is the same folder on my SSD drive.
It’s possible that I don’t understand or am doing something wrong, but after 3 years working with Roon I 'm not used to this.
