Hi @hamdan_altamimi,
Thanks for the detailed report. Your analysis lines up with a known issue that is fixed in Roon 2.74. When a Roon Remote reconnects to the Roon Server (for example after a Mac wakes from sleep), older remotes reload their open screens once for every earlier reconnect. Over days the bursts grow into the thousands of radio queries per second you measured, the Roon Server falls behind, and playback requests time out.
The fix is on the remote side, and your Roon Server is already up to date. Two of your remotes are still on the previous version: the MacBook Pro (2.73 build 1700) and the iPhone Roon Remote (2.73 build 1696).
Please:
- Update Roon on the MacBook Pro to 2.74 (build 1712). The steps are here:
https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/faq-how-do-i-update-roon-how-do-i-make-sure-i-m-running-the-latest-version - Update the Roon Remote app on your iPhone from the App Store.
- Restart the Roon Server container once after both remotes are updated, so it starts without the backlog of queued requests.
The fix is listed in the 2.74 release notes (“Fixed desktop reconnects causing excessive server requests and possible server stalls”):
Your Windows PC also has its own Roon Server (2.73 build 1700) installed. If you don’t use it, please make sure your remotes stay connected to the Docker Roon Server.
If the CPU load or playback timeouts come back after this, please note the time and let us know, and we will check the logs from your Roon Server.
