Description of Issue

Roon Desktop works as normal while the machine is running, but when I come back the next morning, I find it is no longer running

Hi @JeremyAH,

Do you receive a crash report prompt from the Apple OS when this occurs? Or is Roon no longer listed in the running applications entirely (press Option (or Alt), Command, Esc (Escape) and have a look).

It might be more difficult to test this, but does playback stop overnight as well? Try queuing several albums in a row, playing to the System Output or a Roon Remote with the audio muted. If the audio stream is retained, but the UI component of Roon has gone down, then you’re encountering a longstanding known issue for which we have a ticket.

We’ll keep a look out for your response.

Hi Connor

When this happens, Roon is no longer listed in the running applications. From memory, playback continues as the server is running on a separate machine, but I’ll try and test this again.

I did have this issue in the early days of the M1 processor, but it seemed to get fixed after a bit.

Many thanks
Jeremy

Thanks for the update, @JeremyAH, we’ll have a look at diagnostics on our end in the meantime as well. We’re tracking this issue, so if we don’t respond right away, it’s still in the pipeline internally.

Hi Connor,

Sorry about the delayed response, it’s been an interesting couple of weeks! Thanks for letting me know it’s being looked into.

Best wishes
Jeremy
