Release 2024.02

Then please disable the service.

That is exactly the reason: in the previous round it tried to update to XL and failed.
This is now corrected and this unit is ‘back on track’.

Underlying issue is that this is a 4 GB card, which is not enough room to upgrade to XL.

In the next release there will be some kind of notification to inform the user about this.

Thanks

Thank you for the update Harry. I flashed a 32 GB micro SD card with the image from your website (see below) and put it in the Pi 4. The red LED is on constantly, the green LED flashes 4 times slowly then 4 times fast, then a pause. The Pi is connected to the Internet as before via Ethernet cable, and I don’t see it in the router table. I unplugged the other Pi 4 that is working. Any ideas?

Hi @spockfish

This update did not reboot my USBridge Sig, it was stuck on “initialising” and I had to pull the power and reboot. It then finished updating.

Here’s feedback in case you need to take a look: d6e5dd3106f44958

You need the pi4 image, not the pi3 you linked above …

I’m getting repetitive crashes; one every 10 minutes or so. How do i diagnose?

Thanks Harry - I’ve moved all 4 of my devices to 32GB cards. I’m sure that will fix my intermittent upgrading problems.

Updates showed on my devices this past week finally got round to installing. The display every ten mins or so says its lost connection then it pops back. These are wired not wireless. Did not have this before updating.

I’ve got the same issue. I’m using a Pi3B with the official Pi display. The screen says “Connection Failure” for a couple seconds then returns to normal. Music is never interrupted.

@spockfish appreciate all of the work you do with RoPieee.

I use NAA in RoPieee, outputing DSD512/1024 (upsampled from HQPlayer). Holo Red. With the 2024.02 release, I am hearing a significant increase in very small dust like pops once every minute ish. When I use NAA OS instead of RoPiee it’s clean, and reducing the hardware device driver buffer time mitigates it, but not 100%. Back in prior releases I sometimes got some but in recent releases up to 2024.01 it was pretty much clean.

Not sure if it’s USB packets not getting ouput in a timely manner or something, but this suggests that the kernel/latency changes may have actually had a negative impact, at least with NAA. Or some other internal process has increased load or blocking … hard to triage of course without being able to ssh to RoPieee.

As to why I don’t just use NAA OS, I love RoPieee because it allows me to a) use NAA for single-room use, b) use Roon Bridge for multi-room/grouped use and b) use my DAC’s remote to control play/pause/last/next via Flirc.

Is there somewhere I can download the 2024.01 release?

I have the latest version on my Pi 4 with a E50, and I can not get the extension. I’m using a Flirc.

Please help.

Thanks,
RH

2024.02 is not the latest version. Please update.

Ok. I will do that.
