Release 2024.09.1

Hi,

This is a patch version that addresses the ‘UPnP not visible’ issue that surfaced after the 2029.09 release.

( Would be great to have someone in the beta team that uses UPnP  )

Here’s the (short) changelog:

  • IMPROVEMENT: update Plexamp component
  • IMPROVEMENT: update UPnP player component
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Librespot component (Spotify)
  • FIX: UPnP component does not start
  • ISSUE: Spotify login does not work

PS: with respect to Spotify login: just remove your username/password and you’ll be fine. This has now been confirmed by multiple people.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Hi Harry I have recently set up two Ropieee devices to test out LMS and PlexAmp functionality.
I moved the beta update to daily and hopefully it will update overnight and I will test it out and UPNP tomorrow and feedback.

Thanks.

I know it works now (I tested it thoroughly myself), but my conclusion was that nobody amongst the beta testers is a UPnP user (including myself), otherwise this would have been discovered before the 2024.09 release.

Oh well. All is good now

UPnP was always working for me :man_shrugging:

Had you installed that particular beta release where it was broken?

No, I read this  to mean the issue was in the main release, not beta.

Oh I am on the beta channel so thought it was related to that. Would not be the first time I had imagined something like that

Hi Harry I restarted both devices and they are not showing the 2024.09.1 update as being available. As I am fairly new again to Ropieee is there anything I need to do besides be in the beta channel, as I thought it should run in the background

Signed up just to let you know you made me a happy man with the latest update.
Somewhere last month all went to sh*t, could see but not connect Spotify to Pi3 (with Allo DigiOne Signature HAT) through Spotify Connect for the life of me. Did a complete network remodeling, created a new the WiFi-network, followed by complete removal of the WiFi and switching to all LAN connected.
Eventually seeing the device (seeing the Pi3 in Spotify) was more stable than ever but it would not connect to play anything. Meanwhile Airplay (which was a bit unstable at times) now was working like a charm but it’s not as nice as Spotify Connect.
Today my heart jumped as I saw the update and low and behold, flashed a fresh version and booom… Spotify connect has an instant connect and works.

THANKS YOU SO MUCH!!

The 2024.09.1 release is only available in the stable channel.

Thanks I was looking for it in beta channel :+1:

Hi Harry, @spockfish - unfortunately my Asus USB-AC56 is no longer recognised with this build when migrating from .06 - first time I’ve lost this in years. Would be grateful for any help - 45cae65a8f909c5e . Thanks!

Edit: Just to be clear, by “no longer recognised” I mean it doesn’t appear as an option in the WiFi dropdown.

Huh? What has the WiFi dropdown has to do with your USB DAC?

Anyways, your DAC isnt’ seen by the system. Are you sure it’s powered on? And properly connected?

Hi Harry - it’s not a DAC - it’s a USB WiFi adapter…the DAC is indeed unplugged at the moment as it’s not the issue.

This one:

Ohhhh… duh :frowning:

I read to quickly.

No worries  thanks for looking.

@spockfish hi Harry, unfortunately there are still issues with upnp.
I can start play something but after a while (variable … a couple of minutes to more than one hour) RoPieee crashes, no music anymore, and I cannot access the web page, the only way is to pull the power supply from the wall , therefore I cannot send a feedback …
