I’ve released another patch release that fixes 2 issues related to the new Convenience Switching. On top of that I’ve also added a switch (default ‘on’) to disable Convenience Switching completely, for example when you have a setup with more than 1 DAC and using multiple services.
Changelog:
NEW: add a switch to turn Convenience Switching off, for setups with multiple services on separate DACs
FIX: Squeezelite could keep the audio device locked when switched away from, blocking the next service from starting
FIX: RoPieee Spinner could get stuck repeatedly reconnecting when switched away from and back
works on Pi4 with Audiophonics hat w/o any problem. Set the switch to ‘off’ as I have no need for it.
BTW if you still need a receiver with HDMI for multichannel testing, please PM me. I have an old, NIB 5.1 Onkyo receiver sitting in my basement which I could ship to you by the end of September.
Hi Harry. After the 2026.08.2 update, my endpoint does not show the dac anymore. I have a Topping E50 II and it worked until now. It says No DAc found. Feddback sent 59d41570168cdf35. Thank you!
I updated two of my Raspberry Pi 3bs (with HATS) and the automatic update froze. Had to manually reflash and reconfigure. Although I could see them on my network before reflashing, I couldn’t reach them via Roon, so I think there may be a problem with the auto update and/or Roon Bridge. All working properly now
This seems as good a place as any to ask this question. What is the minimum size for the micro SD card for the new version?
I don’t really know why, but the notion of paying USD $20 for a micro SD card is like fingernails on a black board for me. I turned the house upside-down and found two unused cards - a 4GB and a 32GB. Can I get away with the 4GB card?
This has come up because a friend, a musician who owns many thousands of CDs, has become interested in Roon. Advising him to look at Ropieee on a Raspberry PI reminded me that I meant to replace a Squeezebox Touch (yes, the same one from before you wrote Ropieee ) back during the pandemic when you simply could get Raspberry Pis. Pis are stupid expensive now, relatively speaking, but given that I could actually get one now, I was happy enough to shell out seventy bucks for a 2GB Pi4. But the price of memory today is just, I don’t know, insulting.
