Success with Tailscale VPN

This might be of interest to anyone who’s been struggling to get Roon working over a VPN. I installed Tailscale VPN on my roon server and on my iPhone… and it just worked. No extra configuration or tinkering required. Roon Remote auto-detection and streaming work over the VPN connection. Tailscale is a commercial VPN based on Wireguard, it’s free for personal use. Roon 2.0 -- Remote Playback Works with VPN (No ARC Required)

For those of us who don’t want to open ports on our router/firewall for security reasons, Roon 2.0 remote playback works over VPN on a different subnet. I just updated to Roon Core 2.0 (build 1128) & Roon Remote for iOS 2.0 (build 1127). With wifi disabled I was able to connect via VPN over LTE (Wireguard VPN on pfSense firewall) and the iPhone was listed as a playback device.
