Description Of Issue
After upgrae I can’t get Roon to open. The iPad finds it but it says " initialising".

Also I was trying to add a wifi speaker to the system (and may have introduced another network?). I used my MacBook pro as a roon bridge with a Monitor Audio Airstream S200 speaker. It worked well initially.

Hi @Ian_Clark,

Since experiencing this issue have you tried rebooting your Core machine and remote devices?

Are other remote devices also experiencing this issue?

Hi Dylan,
I have rebooted several times, core and remotes. The Macbook Pro is the only other remote I use and it has the same message. I upgraded again also. Rebooted hub too.

Just to tell you, dylan,
that I have disabled the MacBook firewall and a BT one too…rebooted everything. No change. If you want more of the
log entries just say.

Hi @Ian_Clark,

Can you please try to temporarily host the Roon Core on your Macbook and let us know if the behavior is the same? You can do this by installing the full Roon package and when on the “Choose your Core” screen, specify “Use this PC”. If the issue does not occur on your Macbook, when in Core mode I would suggest reaching out to the SonicTransporter support team.

Hi

I tried to do this and had to unauthorise the sonic transporter to get it to load. It has a library of music on my MBP. What should I be looking for? And how do I reauthorise the sonic transport?

Hi @Ian_Clark,

When the macbook is acting as the Core, do you have any issues connecting to it from your Roon Remotes which you mentioned had problematic behavior before?

You should be able to authorize the Sonictransporter again by using the same procedure. After completing testing the above, you can go to Roon Settings -> General -> Disconnect. Then on the “Choose your Core” screen, select the SonicTransporter as the Core. I would only do this after testing if there are any Roon Remote connection issues on the Mac though.

This has been simply resolved by reinstalling the Roon server software.

Did you have to reinstall Roon on your Sonic Transporter? I ask because I’ve had the the same issue happen twice now. The first time two days ago it seemed to resolve itself but now it’s happened again. Roon Rock runs on my intel i7, Roon remote on my iPad. After playing music for a few hours today, the music kept playing but the Roon Remote went to “Choose your Roon Core” displaying the yellow button marked “Initializing…” Running Version 1.7 (build 511) stable.

Yes I did. Lost playlists but no matter. I wondered if using Roon bridge to connect with a MonitorAudio WiFi speaker had caused it…the bridge (through a MacBook Pro) worked allowing zoning with Oppo 205. Now it will not let me include the speaker in a zone with the oppo. Were you doing anything when yours crashed?
The reinstall to the i5 was easy. Just remove the server from the software manager and then find new version on available apps.

Did you by any chance have a Backup of your old database?

I wouldn’t think an audio device would cause such behavior, seems more networking-related or Core related to me. If you wish, you can open another thread regarding the speaker + oppo zone and we can take a look. In either case glad to hear you resolved the issue with a reinstall.
