Description Of Issue

Remote on phone won’t connect to core.

Hi @Donald_Adams,

Is the Samsung able to see the Core machine at all? What do you see in the Roon app?

Is the Core machine connected via Ethernet or WiFi?

Are other remotes able to connect?

Was this working previously?

In the Roon remote, it sees my laptop (core running on) says connecting in green and then switches to connection failed in red briefly before going back to connecting in green. This gets repeated over and over. Not sure if that’s what you mean the Samsung seeing the core. The laptop (core) is also connected through wifi, same as phone.
I haven’t setup up any other remotes, just getting started. Thanks

Could a firewall on the computer keep the remote from connecting? Thanks

Hi @Donald_Adams,

Is there any change if you connect the Core machine via Ethernet? Any change if you disable the firewall on the Core machine temporarily?

I disabled laptop firewall and now phone connects.I’ll have to see if there is a way to just enable the Roon remote and keep firewall on. Thanks for the help

Hi @Donald_Adams,

You can place exceptions for Roon and RAATServer in your firewall settings and this should do the trick for you.

Great! Thanks for the help.
