Describe the issue
Multiple Remotes cannot connect. All Remotes reinstalled. Using SonicTransporter 2.7, Roon Server 2.65, UltraRendu. Worked fine until May 2026 and then "Looking for your Roon Server". SonicTransporter update seems not to stick.
Describe your network setup
Remote to Wifi to hardwired SonicTransporter to UltraRendu to DAC.
Thank you for reaching out. I know it is incredibly frustrating when a stable system suddenly stops connecting, especially when you have already tried reinstalling the remote apps.
A huge thank you to @Arlen for jumping in with the exact right solution!
Recent updates to the Roon software introduced new underlying system and security requirements. Because your SonicTransporter is currently running OS version 2.7, it lacks the modern software libraries needed to execute the latest Roon Server build. Your Roon Server is essentially failing to launch in the background, which is why your remotes are stuck indefinitely “Looking for your Roon Server.”
Next Steps: To get everything back up and running, please follow the guide Arlen linked to update your SonicTransporter’s operating system to version 2.8 (or newer).
Once the SonicTransporter OS is updated, the Roon Server process will have the libraries it needs to successfully start, and your remotes should immediately see it on the network again. Please let us know if you run into any trouble during the OS update process!
