I just posted regarding exactly the same issues, however, my solution was actually to turn ON both normalization options. I had previously turned them off to try to ameliorate problems, but so far listening for 25 mins 2 both tidal and nas originated files and no drops. And this is an end point that connects wireless. Just 45 minutes ago I was experiencing drops on tidal, to the point that roon would crash on my phone which I am using as remote as go figure.
The trick really is to have the data analysis done in off-listening periods when Roon is not actually playing music. Perhaps Roon should have a database scheduling function so that it does its metadata analysis etc during night time when one is supposed to be asleep. This won’t work for insomniacs of course.
