· My Roon software won't start up

Describe the issue

I have had to rebuild the server Roon is on 3 times now becuase various issues but now i am stuck at my DB is bad but i have no back DB. I have deleted it on the server and tried to recreate it but the screen just comes back and i cant move past this. This feature being locked by your service (servers) instead of my hardware is my real pain point for a premium software this "flag" even thou there is no DB on the server is stupid.

Describe your network setup

At his point i am unsub cause this issue and flag being controled by you even thou i host the DB is stupid.

What does this mean, what do you see? A screenshot would help. If you see an „Unauthorize“ button, click it.

Hello @damexx,

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

If you see any messages on the screen, it means that your database is still in place, or you have moved or renamed just a part of the folders.

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a Windows machine:

All Roon_old on Windows

Hi @damexx,

We’re pinging this thread for a status update since we haven’t seen a post here or any activity in diagnostics for several days.

In order to take effective action on this report, we’ll need a screenshot of the issue you’re encountering when you attempt to set up your RoonServer.

The instructions in the previous post will ensure you’ve fully dissociated your machine from any previous RoonServer instance. Please follow @vadim’s instructions and let us know the precise point at which you’re still stuck.

We’ll watch for your response. Thank you!
