56 year old Glen Hansard passed away after a single vehicle motorcycle crash.
I enjoy his unique musical style, and will be listening to some of it today.

This is very sad news.
I learned of this early this morning listening, as I generally do on Wednesday mornings, to former NPR producer Bob Boylan’s “My Tiny Morning Show” on WOWD out of Takoma Park, MD.
When he returned to the air from his first set he conveyed the sad news, which he had just heard, the emotion in his voice pretty apparent. Apparently Glen did several “Tiny Desk Concerts” when he was performing in the DC area and Boylan was clearly very fond of him (“sometimes it was hard to get him to stop playing!”). He played “Falling Slowly” of course
I’ve always enjoyed Hansard since back in “Swell Season” days but it was Bob’s emotion today which really moved me and led me to reflect on how much Hansard’s music has meant to me.
I was shocked to see this today…so talented! So much great music! Terrible loss! Grateful for being exposed to his music and getting to see him in concert twice. Play some of his music today if you are a fan or if unfamiliar with his music!
