Split topic, we where discussing toslink and jitter on the RME ADI-2 DAC which is feature packed and apparently sounds very good (review for example here: https://headfonics.com/2018/04/rme-adi-2-dac-review/ )
Here are the 16 and 24 bit jitter tests on the RME ADI-2 DAC, like Chord DACs they are kind of hard to improve upon. Its when seeing this, and comparing toslink to my current ethernet transport (Allo USBridge) that I think an ethernet transport isn’t really useful when sitting next to computer (provided you don’t need or want the higher sample rates of course)
RME is absolutely superb and comes with a remote control right, so can be used as a pre-amp into your power amp? I may get one to try out.
Maybe @andybob can help split these last few posts to a separate thread?
Out of respect for @Jesus_Rodriguez I don’t want to de-rail too much from the opticalRendu (even though it was partly my fault hehe)
