I would like to clarify how our Tidal integration works. Roon does not simply mirror Tidal’s search results; instead, we maintain our own comprehensive database of metadata to power Roon’s discovery features.
If a track was added to Tidal very recently, it may not have synced to Roon’s database yet. It typically takes a few days (sometimes up to a few weeks) for new content to fully propagate.
Please give it a little time and try searching for it again.
Thanks guys for getting back to me. I’m kind of used to these for very new releases, I accept that it’s a known limitation.
But this record has been out for 22 days now, so it’s certainly not (just) the usual issue. A few days, sure, but it’s been 3 weeks, this is some other bug.
While it usually happens faster, in some rare cases, it can take up to a month for new metadata to fully propagate to our database.
To help us investigate this specific release, could you please share the full album title and artist name? Alternatively, a direct link to the album on Tidal or Qobuz would be very helpful so we can test it on our end.
@Suedkiez@Georg I don’t find it that strange, “All My Life” is just a single, right? So from what I can see, the single is visible just fine for both platforms, while Tidal is missing the actual album.
The Tidal version, which may be the single, is shown under Main Albums in Discography, not in the Singles and EPs section, so that’s strange right there. And, of course, the album that should be in this section instead, is missing.
According to Wikipedia, All My Life is indeed one of the five single released from this album, but there may be an additional problem insofar as five singles from Britpop are listed in the Discography under Singles and EPs, but All My Life isn’t - not the Qobuz version either. Instead there is Pocket Rocket, which Wikipedia doesn’t list as a single release.
Fair points. Maybe somehow Roon mangled (some ID conflict?) that single with the main album? Not sure. Also that wouldn’t explain all the other discrepancies you found.
Thank you for your patience while we looked into this.
Once TIDAL provides the missing metadata and it propagates through our systems, the album should appear normally in Roon. We’ll keep this thread updated as soon as we have more information to share.
Thanks again for your patience, and we appreciate you flagging this.
