ROCK CD ripper finds no storage but SSD is available

PROBLEM CD RIPPER:

“Can not rip because there are no attached storage drives. Please install internal storage or connect a USB drive.”

The CD ripper worked for about 40 CD’s, but now it seems CD Ripper doesn’t find file “cd-rips” anymore. In file cd-rips is another file “Roon Imports” with iTunes imported music library.
All worked well, system as well as USB CD-ROM were restarted and restarted and reset…

PLEASE HELP!!!

Is your storage full?

Hi @ede,

Can you verify how much space is left on the drive?

Are you able to access the internal storage drive via File Explorer or Finder?

Thx for Help, but pls read carefully: As described SSD is available and Roon Database & Settings: 90% of 458 GB available. So no storage full and yes I can access internal storage via Roon file explorer or Mac finder…

You can’t use the roon os and database storage for cd ripping it must be to another storage area

thx for your prompt reply. It is running on Intel NUC with Roon Optimized Core Kit as a separate server. Music Library (mostly from iTunes songs) should be storaged on interval ssd. no separate hdd intern or usb storage extern. When importing music library from iTunes via Roon file manager Roon created new folder “Roon Imports” were I found my itunes library.
How do i manage to get my itunes library on the ssd of the Intel NUC with Roon Optimized Core Kit installed?
Can you help?

Hi @ede,

As mentioned, the info you shared above is for the drive that the Roon database is stored on. ]

Did you install an internal drive, as outlined in our Knowledge Base here?

Hi Dylan, i do not use nucleus, I use Intel NUC with rock running Roon Optimized Core Kit. I did install one internal drive, the aforementioned ssd. the link you send me is for nucleus, I do not use nucleus. I do not store music data in the folder 192.XXX.XXX/data/Roon OS/ database…roon created a folder “Roon imports” under 192.XXX.XXX/data/cd-rips/roon imports/…when copying itunes library via Roon file manager to the ssd. when I tried to store the itunes library under 192.XXX.XXX/data/storage/…the songs disappeared after every reboot/restart of the Intel NUC.

Just to make it crystal clear for everybody, are you saying that your Intel NUC has TWO SSDs in it? One being the M.2 SSD where the OS and the Roon software and database are being held, and the second SSD being a 2.5" SSD being used to hold your local music files?

No. I only wrote about one SSD in the Intel NUC with ROCK installed. It works fine with one SSD, never read in the Knowledge Base that you must install two drive for music storage and ROCK… In the Intel NUC are installed 8 GB Ram and one M.2 SSD with 512 GB. I can listen to music, which ist storaged on the ssd at the moment, in different rooms, different music on different devices. But CD Ripper which worked for about 40 CD’s imported, suddenly does not find the still existing folder/file…

Well, I’m sorry, but you have a non-supported configuration for your Intel NUC running ROCK. You would need to be running Windows 10 on it for a single SSD to hold everything on the one drive.

The KB is quite clear that a single SSD cannot be used to hold both the software and the music files in a ROCK installation.

The SSD can not be used for music content . If you want music content in this device, use another disk (see below about “internal storage”)

Hi @ede,

As Geoff mentioned, the SSD that ROCK is installed on cannot be used for music storage. You’d need to use a different storage location for this to work properly for you.
