ROCK on NUC won't update to 2.0.28

I got a message that the latest update failed. The message said to check my internet connection, but seeing as Roon is happily running on 2.0 (currently), doesn’t that imply that I HAVE an internet connection?
Thanks.

Hi @MikeC,
You may have an internet connection but Roon is having problems reaching Roon’s update server.

I’d recommend rebooting your router followed by the Roon Server machine.

Thanks, Carl.
I’ve rebooted my ROCK NUC, my eero router, and my switch several times, rebooted my “remote” devices, and rebooted my Endpoint. Then I removed the switch and connected my NUC and my Endpoint directly to the two Ethernet ports in my eero.
Roon 2.0 continues to function, but the update won’t begin.
I tried the “Reinstall” option after connecting my browser to the NUC, but it times out quickly with an error message saying it can’t connect to the internet. As I mentioned, 2.0 continues to work.
My eero router app shows Port 2: Roon ROCK Core; Speed: 1Gbps
I appreciate any further suggestions!

Is the NUC using a static IP [set on the device] or a DHCP assigned [set by the router] address?

If static try switching to DHCP, this should ensure the subnet mask and default gateway are setup correctly.

BTW my preference is to use DHCP and then allocate a static address to it via the the DHCP MAC address mapping table.

After this I’m unfortunately out of ideas, so will leave you in @support’s capable albeit overloaded hands.

Unfortunately, I’m already using DHCP. Thanks, anyway.
Help!

Hi @MikeC,
Are you still experiencing this issue? If you are I recommend trying a different DNS and checking if any network security is blocking Roon.

Thanks, Daniel. I had done that with no success. Eero and Roon just don’t like each other. I solved the issue by taking the eero out of the equation: I don’t have a wired internet connection near my audio system, which is why I was using the eero mesh network. However, I connected a Linksys router to the nearby eero via a LAN cable (to provide the Linksys with internet) and then used another ethernet cable to connect my NUC to the Linksys’ network instead of the eero network.
Roon instantly recognized everything and updated.
