This is weird, I cannot use ROCK because it wants an update first, but is the version(build) ok???:
Left shows the current version, right shows the update in downloading mode.
There have been various weird update issues since Friday after Roon changed update strategy (adding staged updates). It happened mainly on Windows, there were lots of threads about it. I guess this is another variant. Supposedly they are working on it, so I suppose it will resolve itself.
You have the latest B1234 on ROCK, but your Windows doesn’t run the updated version. Maybe this helps:
The phone version is also fine, there haven’t been updates for it after B1303
Hello @Jan_R_Smit ,
Are you still having this issue at the present time, or have you been able to revert ROCK back to build 1311 and the system is now working?
Hi Noris,
I am on 1311 as posted earlier being a new server built from scratch.
And still the same issue.
Just checked this morning, see attached screencopy.
Regards,
Hi @Jan_R_Smit ,
Can you please let us know if you see any issues with updating to the latest Roon release this time around, once it is available for you to download?
Will do the update when possible, and report.
To datexi have not received an update for my ROCK. Is this normal?
Maybe you can download from here.
I cannot find release info of rock, i did do an fresh install only 2 months ago.
So no clue as to it being the latest release of roon.
Downloading would amount to a reinstall from USB stick, I wouldn’t do that yet.
What you can try is open a web browser, navigate to http://rock like in the left of your screenshot in your second post in this thread ROCK update fails - #3 by Jan_R_Smit
and then hit the Reinstall button. This will reinstall both the operating system and the Roon Server Software:
What would that bring me? The latest of Roon Server?
You see , there is no version info whatsoever up front before install or reinstall.
Really?
What I wrote:
„This will reinstall both the operating system and the Roon Server Software“
And on the linked help page that I posted:
Ah, i missed that link about roon os.
Will pudh the button
the version before reinstall:
The version after reinstall:
The issue with Radio NL1, 2,3,4 still not solved. Checking with browser under windows i get the impression a very long string is returned. Could that be the cause?
Versions are now fine but do keep an eye on it, it is not normal if it doesn’t update. You may want to check your DNS settings and, if you are using your ISP’s, which may be crappy, consider switching your router to a good one:
The NPO Radio streams offer only mp3 and AAC versions:
Did you install the necessary codecs on ROCK for mp3 and AAC?
i already has a ffmpeg installed, replaced it with a new one, no improvement. Roon apparently does not receive something it expects, thus does a time-out:
Here a snippet of the roon log:

what can i do to get more info on what is going on?
Very odd - all the streams for NPO Radio 2 are working for me, and I have a ROCK/NUC Roon Server also.
What DNS server are you using?
It works again!!!
Last rock update installed
One happy roon user back again (my wife)
Thanks.
