Hi @Martin_de_Vries,
I understand your impatience as I have already announced it
Right now Iâm working on rooMax, a Roon extension that allows using the QuickKeys controller with Roon. It offers eight pushbuttons in several levels whose functions can be individually adjusted. You can be excited. So Iâm training a bit regarding the layers
After having released that I will start working on the upgrade for rooDial. But that will probably take a while because I still have some private things to sort out in the meantime.
Yes, a bit eager to get such a nice feature indeed which is ofcourse a compliment
Actually you get me even more eager as I am also very interested in QuickKeys support. Intend to buy one once you have it ready so you couldnât make me more happy
Wish you all the best and thanks for your great products, I use most of them.
MfG
Reinhold
ââââââ Translation
I have been using Roon Nucleus with RooExtend and RooDial with Mircrosoft Surface since March
After a long break, RooDial no longer works.
It is missing in Roon under Extensions.
Bluetooth pairing no longer works either.
I have already restarted everything etc.
Is it possibly a question of the licence?
Where/how do I get a permanent licence?
Translation.
If you already have a license you wonât need another. Initially try rebooting (Power down & then up) your Raspberry Pi and check if that works for you, the Extension should reappear. Then re-pair the surface. If a reboot doesnât work you could try re-flashing your SD card then try the above process again.
I have used RooDial for some years without any hickups with a RP Zero W.
I realize that RooDial has been an upgraded to 3.x and purchased a RP Zero W2 to perform the upgrade.
I revoked the licence on the old setup and âetchedâ v3.3.3 on a new SD.
After SD is installed in the new RP Zero W2 it seems to start up as it should, I can configure it to the WLan and it is visible in ROON extentions.
But I expect strange behaviours. Main challenge right now is that it disappears from Roon extensions after a minute or so.
Questions:
1: In the instructions it states that there should be a red led on the board. Is this the case? I have not seen any red led and have just waited until the green led is off before restart of RP.
2: How should the W2 board indicate when up and running? Mine keeps blinking green when it is visible in extensions. And after a minute or so, the led starts to blink faster (green) and then disappears from Roon extensions.
After additional 30 sek or so the led is fully on (green), but keeps to be invisible in extensions.
A reset of the RP just repeats above.
I have re-etched 3.3.3 several times on different SDs, and changed USB power feed. Same behaviour. I suspect a faulty RP board. Or could it be something else?
I have returned to my old 2.3.2 setup with the RP Zero W. Works perfectly.
I do not have any red led indicating anything on my board.
Initially extensions are visible in Roon, but when activating the services the green led starts to flash (read/write) and then it starts to be solid greed (indicates SD card failure).
At the same time the RP disappears from ROON extensionsâŠ
When re-etching the SD card with 3.3.3 it fails.
One idea was that I again add a brand new SD card and do everything over again, but the fact that I do not have any red led indicating on the RP board make me draw the conclusion that the RP is faulty and might be the one destroying the SDs.
Hi there,
I had a similar problem with the extension vanishing, (more coming and going, unstable) and resolved this by disabling IPV6 on the Roon server.
Seemed to me like the Raspberrry PI on IPV4 could not get a stable connection to a Roon server running both IPV4 & 6.
I even switched from Linux to Windows at the server end which made no difference. Went back to Linux Roon server on IPV4 only and itâs been stable for months now.
Hi @Johan_Engwall,
I apologize for my late reply but Iâm in the middle of moving from Salzgitter back to FĂŒrth. So I was out for one week but now Iâm back to help.
You did anything right. In the Zero W2 there is a green LED and if it is blinking once per second anything is fine. This is also the case if you see rooExtend in the Settings/Extensions of Roon.
There is a simple way to diagnose where the disconnect comes from. If you open a browser with the IP number of you Zero W2 you get to the so calles âService Pageâ. At the bottom of this page you find this button:
Please click it right after a disconnect and e-mail what you see to info@definiteaudio.de
@DrCWO I couldnât resist and bought a Quickkeys device upfront. Feels and looks like a quality product. Any indication around what time you expect to release it or maybe do a public test?
Hi Martin,
good decision. It will become a wonderful remote for Roon
Regarding the release date:
As I moved from Salzgitter to FĂŒrth last week there is so much work that has to be done at the moment. This means time for development is a bit limited now. I hope I will have a first beta for testing till end of June.
