I’m not sure I follow. I don’t mean by opening the app on the watch. Just walking at home and saying hey siri play nirvana
@Todd_Haugen
I think the biggest difference is that Entrypoints follows a more modular approach. A CD and Audio Entrypoint can play side by side, both creating their own web radio stream, and allowing the routing of the parallel streams to different rooms. This approach adds a bit more complexity to the setup.
Please post in the topic below. I guess @Klaus_Engel will answer.

So, I thought I’d give this a go recently having had intermittent glitches with a Pi3b and rooDial. However, I can’t seem to get it to work with the dial, however many times I reboot and/or take batteries out of the dial. If I plug it in, the dial stops working, unplugged it’s fine. The dial wouldn’t allow a new pairing with it plugged in. Am I missing something obvious about how to get it working? Thanks!
For reference, I bought this one:
Hi,
I‘m sorry but unable to help you for the next few days as I’m traveling. Will be back on Saturday if anything will go as it should.
You have to plug the antenna BEFORE booting the PI. If you look in the system log you should see at the beginning that the antenna got recognized. If you run the antenna in a self powered hub make sure that is was also powered off but on again before the Pi gets its power.
Please check the rooExtend-Box manual in my download area for troubleshooting pairing. It will only be possible limited time after rooDial got visible in Roon Settings/Extensions.
More help next Saturday if necessary.

Thanks @DrCWO - I think I tried all these steps but will go through the process more slowly again tomorrow, check the logs, and see where that gets me. Just to be clear, should I need to re-pair if the dial was previously paired with the internal Bluetooth or should it just work? Many thanks and enjoy your travels!
I guess you have to re-pair. Another option mi8ght be to start with a fresh SD-Card and the Antenna plugged at the very beginning. I never tried to switch from internal BT to the antenna…
I know you’re travelling at the moment - no urgency on this at all. For the record, unfortunately neither option has worked. Starting from scratch with a new SD card, the dial simply won’t pair with the external Bluetooth antenna. Is the internal antenna completely deactivated when an external is plugged in? I’m wondering if it’s not ‘forgetting’ the internal antenna because it’s active in some way. Reverting to the previous SD card it is still paired happily with the internal Bluetooth, despite time with batteries out and attempts to pair the external.
My next plan may be to try to pair it with the Bluetooth aerial plugged into an unrelated device, perhaps a Windows desktop.
Don‘t pair with window. You will have trouble pairing with rooExtend after that.
Would you please send me the system log to info@definiteaudio.de after you have restarted the Pi with the antenna plugged.

Many thanks, will do…
@DrCWO any outlook on when you’ll be able to push the new update through, or is it more like a “when it’s done” situation?
Thanks
Form the current point of view probably till end of Feb. I have to fix some open ends but at the moment my time for rooExtend is a bit limited. So cross fingers

Hope you get the time
Quick question on RooSpot, will it be working as an end point of sorts (Spotify will see RooSpot as device for playback and Roospot will appear as a Radio in Roon)?
rooSpot will implement Spoitfy Connect and you will be able to control Roon with the Spotify App. Streaming to rooSpot will start Roon playback automatically via the Roon Audio API. No Radioststion has to be created for it.

@DrCWO
I just want to ask if there are any plans to bring rooExtend to Raspberry Pi 5 in the future?
Thanks for replying.
Plans YES but no so quick. Should be done in 2025
Is it possible to use the tilt function of roohead without applying a headphone EQ (when for example wanting to use the tilt function with a speaker setup)
Interesting Use Case
But the answer is no. this can’t be made with rooHead at the moment

My apologies if this has already been addressed, but is there a RooExtend installer or ISO available so we can create our own Linux VM (I.e. in Proxmox, etc)? Ideally would prefer not to use another Raspberry Pi device on my network if possible. Thanks for consideration.
I already have an existing DietPi VM that is running Roon Extension Manager but unfortunately cannot find instructions on how to install RooExtend within our own DietPi setups.
It is not supported, only full images are offered
