Roon 1.8 (Build 880) and lower Backup dimension

Hello,

Updating to the last Roon 1.8 (Build 880) I can see a huge drop in backup dimensions. My backup of yesterday (before che last update) was 7.3GB but now (with new version) is 3.2GB (only playlists are changed). It’s normal?

I think, but not sure, a lot of the artwork is now “in the cloud,” so it’s not in your Roon database or your backups.

Look here for the official explanation:

Shrunk database size after 1.8 build 880 update

For build 880, we changed how artwork is managed in the database. Instead of downloading all artwork up front and storing it in the database, it’s now downloaded from our servers on the fly, and managed in the Cache/ folder, which does not get backed up. I would expect most databases to become significantly smaller as a result of this update.
