@Jim_F - thanks for the hint but this is my secondary setup.
my primary is with an Antipodes server, LAN and Roon2.0.
and as it did work properly I just want to get it back in this state again. thanks.

I realize that, but even a secondary setup needs to meet some kind of reasonable standards. Just because it worked before, each and every Roon update runs the risk of crossing a tipping point. Depending on how much money you are willing to put into it, you can get something more capable and run Roon 2.0 for a few hundred dollars. If you’re in the US, a Nucleus One is only $500.
When I’m away from home at my 101 year old mother-in-law’s two weeks every month, I use Roon loaded on my Dell XPS 15 Windows 11 laptop with no issues. I take an RPi4 and Chord Mojo 2 with me.
Hi @martin_foerster,
We’ve created a ticket for this issue which we will pass onto the dev team. We will let you know when we know more.
hi - thats appreciated - thanks a lot.
best, martin
Hello @martin_foerster ,
Thanks for your patience while we checked with the team regarding your case. Since Roon 1.8 is no longer under active development, any solution for this issue while using Roon 1.8 would have to come in the form of configuration changes.
With that being said, I have seen a similar issue being resolved in the recent past by adding the affected device to the Apple Home app, please see the below guide on how to do so:
If this solution does not work, we would then need to debug this further using a Roon 2.0 system, as any dev fixes would only be part of a new Roon 2.0 release. Have you by any chance been able to confirm if the issue occurs with a Roon 2.0 release on the affected setup?
Or if you wish to use your MacAir with Roon 2.0, there is another option here, a free 3rd party tool that several of our customers have tried for older MacOS hardware - it is called OpenCore Legacy Patcher. We cannot comment on specific instructions regarding this tool, but it has helped others who have been unable to update MacOS due to hardware limitations.
