Roon 2.0 Build 1292 and ARC Build 192 is Live!

Hello Everyone,

With this cycle’s Early Access release, we’re introducing some minor simplifications both to the Roon user experience and to the software backend.

We’ve brought single sign-on (SSO) to Roon and ARC, sparing users the confusion of a separate login page in each app. Rather than enter their credentials within the app, the ARC and Roon login pages now open a browser where users can securely sign into all Roon services. This change will greatly enhance the security of Roon user accounts and pave the way for future convenience surrounding accounts and login.

We have also made some minor UI fixes and improvements, including login page streamlining to accompany SSO and, notably, a new “More From” section on the Artist Discography page.

This update marks the beginning of our efforts to clean up Artist Discographies by reserving the Main Albums section for an artist’s canonical releases. This is distinct from opportunistic catalog mining releases and out-of-copyright reissues, duplicates, and compilations, all of which are being moved to the new “More From” section.

Please note: this update will prevent users from connecting an earlyaccess Remote to a production Core. Attempting to connect in this setup will prompt an incompatibility screen. If you have migrated your core away from earlyaccess then you should install the production remotes to match.

Thank you for your continued support,
The Team at Roon Labs
