Of course I am the amateur! That is the point of my post (admittedly not made very well).
I am the amateur customer paying for the product, Roon are the professionals charging for it. We are music lovers for goodness sake, not IT professionals. If we are expected to possess such specialist knowledge to get Roon to operate as stated, then that fact should be there right up front and centre, together with the guaranteed means to gain that knowledge or direct help with it.
I should not be expected to dig around in this forum seeking what I need from kind (and unpaid) folk such as yourself.
