Excellent work team!!!
I was contemplating buying a new iPad as Roon took minutes to load on my iPad 7th gen. Now I don’t have to. Keep these coming.

This is a HUGE day for me! I’ve been complaining here about duplicate scrobbles (and playcounts) for many YEARS now. It is finally fixed!
Is it just me, or does the Mac version now support ProMotion scrolling? It seems totally smooth now…
Edit: oh, macOS. I was thinking iPhone. Now I see it too ![]()
Not for me, I just updated (to the latest EA but it should be the same as production) and I don’t think I see a difference. I would be surprised if @Stephen were quite as quick:
New software WOW super fast 2.65 build 1653 - #115 by Stephen
Glad you’re noticing it! It’s not ProMotion per se, but we did fix a frame timing issue on macOS that was causing a subtle rhythmic stutter – especially noticeable during trackpad scrolling. The display refresh signal was occasionally getting stuck waiting in line behind other system work, causing the app to miss its render window and double the frame time. We reduced dropped frames by over 90%, so the smoothness you’re feeling is real!
I updated to 2.67 this morning and performance is no better and likely worse than on the versions since 2.65. I did connect Listenbrainz as a new service, but after having to reboot my Mac Mini M1 Core (16GB RAM) twice since I moved up to 2.67 approx. 7 hours ago, I have disconnected the service. I will see if that improves things…fingers crossed!
The macOS trackpad back/forward is working, but I am also using Magic Mouse to do 2 finger back/forward. Able to bring that to the mix also?
I’m busy working on overhauling the technical debt on the iOS and Android version. I’m hoping to get an early release out in the near future. The primary focus hasn’t been scrolling/smoothness, however, I am loosely paying attention to it and hoping it’ll be better for everyone.
Yeah I was trying to point out that most likely it will need a little time on mobile but then I found out that the question had been about macOS anyway (the usage of „ProMotion“ had confused me)
Until April, Roon ran on a fairly old Mac Mini, but with the new release, it was no longer supported. I took a PC that I no longer used in an HDplex case, installed new RAM, erased the OS, and used a fairly lightweight Linux distro (Mint XFCE), installed Roon Server, and I have to say that the new release works really, really well. Congratulations to the team that completed this project and continues to improve it, well done!
I have a very large library running on an UnRaid server and the restart time has been drastically reduced. Bravo Team Roon!!!

Had the same thing. I made sure I had a backup, then uninstalled making sure to save settings, then reinstalled afresh from Roon website. Worked great.
Thank you @Scotty I’ll try that in the evening.
Update: Worked fine after restoring the Update ![]()
I have a very old ipad, sometimes it crashes. Not sure what Genbut Im guessing 4th? Is it necessary to upgrade? I have a new Lenovo I could use
You probably have the known visual item duplication going on. Report this here in the related investigation thread and upload your database.
There are probably various variants of this issue and I’m unable to reproduce the one that had plagued me, but a search for remaining issues is ongoing.
